Why We Built Sophon

Unlike a conventional polypropylene honeycomb paddle, Sophon uses EPP foam as the primary structural material inside the paddle.
The full foam architecture creates a solid foundation designed to deliver a softer, more connected response at contact.
Rather than producing an overly hollow or disconnected sensation, the core is tuned to give players clearer and more predictable feedback throughout the point.
Responsive TPE Ring
Surrounding the primary EPP structure is a responsive TPE ring.
The TPE works alongside the foam core to influence rebound and dwell time, helping the paddle maintain a controlled response during softer shots while remaining responsive when players accelerate through the ball.
The goal is not simply to make Sophon feel soft.
It is to create a response players can trust during resets, drops, counters, and directional placement.
Reinforced Perimeter Foam
Additional foam reinforcement around the perimeter supports stability across the paddle face.
When contact moves away from the center, that structure is designed to help maintain a more consistent response and a more forgiving playing experience.

Core construction is only one part of how a paddle plays.
Sophon pairs its full foam architecture with Warping Point’s Aero Fusion Surface, built around a multi-layer carbon fiber structure engineered to support ball control, spin, and consistent surface performance.
